FUTURELIFE® in partnership with the Dis-Chem Foundation and HOPE worldwide SA have committed to donating and distributing 200 000 nutritious meals to children affected by the recent riots and unrest across Kwa-Zulu Natal and Gauteng. According to Mark Bunn, Managing Director FUTURELIFE®, the partners already provide 100 000 nutritious meals to children in need every month, however, the widespread damage – both physically and emotionally – from the past few weeks has had massive ramifications.
“South Africa was already beset by poverty before the pandemic. Now, after over a year of Covid-19 and a week of relentless riots, thousands of jobs have been lost and so many, especially our children, have been left without food.”
Bunn believes that the long-term nutritional needs of children is where they are best positioned to assist. “The longer-term impact of the recent riots has been compounded by an already-growing food crisis. Our immediate goal is to secure sustained nutrition for these little tummies.”
Bunn says that a mere R50 can keep a little tummy full for one whole month! Plus, FUTURELIFE® will match every, single donation made to this drive, converting donations to FUTURELIFE® meals.
Those interested in getting involved can donate either via: EFT or Zapper directly to HOPE worldwide SA.
