On the 17th of July 2023, The Glass Recycling Company (TGRC) organised a heartfelt Nelson Mandela Day feeding scheme in the Randburg area of Joburg. The focus was to lend a helping hand to the homeless community.
TGRC dedicated time to preparing meals for those facing hard times this winter. They collaborated with a local charity, One Small Act of Kindness, to ensure that nourishing meals were provided to those in need, offering comfort and a momentary respite from the challenges faced by so many Johannesburg residents.
The Nelson Mandela Day activity served as a reminder that small acts of goodwill, selflessness and kindness can make a significant impact. Impoverished Randburg community members are united by the charity, One Small Act of Kindness, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. The charity itself aims to enable and ensure the local vulnerable community is exposed to opportunities to better their lives.
TGRC, along with creating income generation opportunities and supporting glass buy-back centres also embodies the spirit of lending a helping hand to c communities in need beyond glass recycling.
In the true spirit of Madiba’s legacy, TGRC along with the charity continue to demonstrate the power of compassion and recognise the inherent worth of every individual, regardless of their circumstances.
Their ongoing efforts, together with community and corporate support, stands as a humble tribute, reflecting the lasting impact that can be achieved through collective action and empathy.
