“Give! Give! Give!” This was the message from the inimitable Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, who was presented with eXp South Africa’s 2022 social responsibility donation at The Africa Leadership Tour, ‘eXperience The Future’ industry conference.

The Gift of the Givers Foundation is the first beneficiary of eXp South Africa’s corporate social investment endeavours, and eXp South Africa’s agent team unanimously voted for the worthy cause.

Chairman of eXp South Africa’s Agent Advisory Committee (SAAAC), James Conyers, did the honour of handing over the contribution. Conyers said, “It was an incredibly proud and touching moment experienced by all. Handing over the cheque of R350,000 to Africa’s champion of society and community guardian, Dr Imtiaz Sooliman of Gift of the Givers, was an honour and a fitting occasion to officially mark the launch of eXp South Africa’s CSI programme, ‘eXp Has Heart & Soul.’”

Commenting on the donation, Dr Sooliman said, “Gift of the Givers appreciates the generosity of eXp South Africa and their team for the generous contribution derived from a percentage of agents’ commission on the sale of properties. This sets a worthy example for other agents in the real estate industry to emulate. The benefit for communities suffering from the ravages of hunger, lack of water, sanitary pads, school uniforms, stationery or wheelchairs is immense, bringing dignity, joy and functionality to the poorest in our midst. This proactive, novel CSI initiative from eXp South Africa is deeply valued.”

eXp South Africa Cares

Andrew Thompson, eXp South Africa Managing Broker and initiator of the meaningful programme, confirmed that every eXp agent in South Africa makes a contribution of 0.5% of their annual gross commission towards the growth and development of South African communities in distress.

Social responsibility is very close to the heartbeat of eXp Realty as a global business. Part of the company’s core values is community, being a good neighbour to create a sustainable legacy, and service by making a positive change in the global company and the local communities in which they operate. Then there is sustainability, integrity and collaboration – all of which are needed to contribute to society in a manner that counts.

The eXp Global Impact Leadership team comprising Chief Growth Officer, eXp Realty, Michael Valdes, Meghan Kelley, Vice President of Operations eXp Global and eXp Regional Director EMEIA, Ilaria Profumi, were present to share in the memorable occasion. It was a particularly poignant tribute to eXp South Africa’s journey of creating memories and leaving a legacy.

The funds will help the tireless efforts of the Gift of the Givers Foundation – the largest disaster response non-governmental organisation of African origin on the African continent. The essence of the Gift of the Givers’ presence is to bring hope and restore dignity to the most vulnerable.
