The Faith Based Organization (FBO) announced that they have been working with the Scientology Volunteer Ministers in protecting Johannesburg through sanitization over the past few months. Seeing how the Volunteer Ministers were equipped with effective material to be able to sanitize and safeguard the community, FBO executives selected hundreds of volunteers who learned the Volunteer Ministers technology written by L. Ron Hubbard, then learned how to sanitize and they got going so that more buildings could be covered and more people protected.
Under the leadership of Gauteng MEC Nomantu Nkomo, Chairman of the Gauteng Faith-Based Organization Bishop S. Sivungu and Bishop Marokoane from the Marokoane group also wanted to use this opportunity to get youth educated and active on doing something positive during Covid-19.
Bishop Marokoane said, “The bond between the Faith-Based Organization, Marokoane Group and the Scientology Volunteer Ministers is very strong. Our volunteers are in there with the Scientology Volunteer Ministers, doing anything needed: sanitizing government buildings, taxis and buses and more. They have been at it for weeks, non-stop. We are very happy to be able to contribute in that way.”
The Bishop is particularly happy as it kills two birds with one stone: By having youth going, doing something constructive, it helps balance the economy. He also considers that with the skill development his youth has gained, they will only be better citizens afterwards.
On his part, Sandile Hlayisi from the Scientology Volunteer Ministers said that he was thrilled to have FBO join in. “We have been working 15 hours a day, seven days a week ever since the lockdown hit South Africa. We were more than happy to have FBO volunteers working with us side-by-side. There is so much work to do and more hands at work means more people safeguarded.”
The FBO volunteers who have participated at the training of the Volunteer Ministers technology and the sanitization say it has been a fulfilling experience for them to be able to work together with other religious groups, without having to change their religion. “Being part of a team on the front lines and being part of a solution to change what is going on there has been simply fantastic. We have all become brothers, despite our differences,” one of the volunteers said. Another volunteer concurred, “We are happy to have had the opportunity to work with the Volunteer Ministers. There is such a strong purpose amongst us that we have become a strong team and we are operating at a different level together.”
Both groups said they learned a lot since lockdown was announced in March. The motto of the Volunteer Ministers being “Something CAN be done about it”, it is happily embraced by FBO executives and volunteers.
