50 million square feet sanitized for free in one week by local Midrand NPO

A new “highest ever” was achieved by the Scientology Volunteer Ministers this past week, with 4.7 million square meters or over 50 million square feet decontaminated across five provinces.  This brings the total of 850,150,200 feet of buildings decontaminated at their own cost since announcement of lockdown in March 2020 by the President of South Africa.

According to Sandile Hlayisi, Public Affairs Director for the Scientology Volunteer Ministers, the past 7 months have been tough for the hundreds of Volunteer Ministers who have not taken one day off since.  But he claims all of them are very proud of what they did as they kept in mind at all times the purpose of what they were doing all this work for.

”With a disaster like the pandemic hitting every continent around the world – a thing that never ever happened before – we considered it our duty to assist in any way we could and we got bright.  While it looked like an impossible task at first, backing up our government, our country and its people in such a time was of vital importance to us and so we faced the music and went on.  And we are still going to the benefit of millions by now,” said Hlayisi.

In addition to having decontaminated more than 850 million square feet which represents 35,000 buildings from one floor shelter to 35-floor government buildings, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers have also sanitized 950,000 taxis, police cars, fire engines and ambulances, to a grand total of 535,500 hours of volunteer work give to help the nation.

Over the past two months, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers have also trained 2750 people on the Tools for Life courses from L. Ron Hubbard which have additionally placed practical knowledge in the hands of South Africans who now feel they can make their life better.

Hlayisi says that by now, people from other religions and many others have joined in with the sanitization and the training.  “They come when they can.  Some give their days off to work with the Volunteer Ministers just to have the pleasure and honor to assist others,” said Hlayisi.  “And their satisfaction is also ours.  We know what it does to contribute to the health and safety of others with no compensation.  It is just a different “thing” but it is also rewarding in many ways.  If ever there is a paradise, we are on our way to it it through our actions” concluded Hlayisi.
