Please welcome New Age Hip-Hop artist and producer ‘MUS MAWKISH’, what’s good bro?

I’m actually excited for having you as a guest on our first episode, thanks for coming.
◇ MUS MAWKISH:
Thank you for having me, it’s an honor.
◇ TOWANDA GUMEDE:
Great, can you please explain to us what is New Age Hip-Hop and how it came about?
◇ MUS MAWKISH:
It’s basically Hip-Hop with an experimental and spiritual feel, because the term “New Age” means being a Self believe & a Spiritualist. So being a “New-Ager” and a musician, I came up with a way of fusing the genre New Age Music and Hip-Hop by aligning the sounds with how I feel & how my soul vibrates.
And since I’m a versatile artist, I can make a beat for a particular genre (maybe Amapiano) in my own unique way but still use it’s elements, write a verse for the beat and hop on it in a unique way too then tag it as “New Age Amapiano” – this applies to all the genres I work on.
◇ TOWANDA GUMEDE:
That’s genius, not many upcoming musicians can even think of such an idea. It is a very important thing to do, it shows how creative you are.
Now please tell us about your company.
◇ MUS MAWKISH:
“New Age Sotra Management” is an independent online media company and management agency. I founded it when I felt all my brands, music and products need a housing company, a foundation to stand on.
Hence every company I founded is managed and owned by “New Age Sotra Management”, e.g. Bra Bra, Gwinuts and so forth.
