Snow season in Europe has officially begun and Jo-Ann Strauss, Kefilwe Mabote and Tendai Mtawarira have all been spotted enjoying a European winter at all-inclusive snow resort, Club Med Tignes. Also enjoying a snow holiday (and skiing) for the first time is Jo-Ann’s dad, who recently celebrated his 65th birthday according to an Instagram post by Jo-Ann.
Tignes, a group of villages that form a high-altitude ski resort in the French Alps, is popular as a snow destination for travellers looking for a snow holiday, with France being easily reached thanks to direct flights with Air France. With nearby Val d’Isère, Tignes is part of the Espace Killy ski area, linked by a network of lifts. Val Claret and Tignes Le Lac villages are lively hubs, with restaurants and shops, and a great snow domain for skiing and snowboarding. In summer, the area offers outdoor enthusiasts a wide array of options to enjoy such as hiking, trails, golf, bike parks and more.
The brand new Club Med Tignes resort that the trio have been spotted at is located in the centre of the liveliest part of the Tignes ski domain, Val Claret, and sits at an altitude of 2100m – making it ideal for good snow conditions throughout the European snow season (being November to April). Club Med is well-known for their all-inclusive model which is very popular among travellers from South Africa particularly for snow holidays, as skis, snowboards, ski boots, snowboarding boots, helmets, ski passes and ski or snowboarding lessons are all included. The resort has ski-in and ski-out facilities, and is also kitted out with an indoor heated pool, fitness centre, spa, Kids Club for children from 2-17 years of age, and so much more.
