Author and identity coach, Alison Weihe is heading to Las Vegas for her book tour. Her book “Belonging” will be released Friday on all digital platforms and she will be published nationwide on all exclusive books outlets.

Alison spent one night in Durban with her husband after they realized that if she wanted to get a US visa in time for her May tour event in Las Vegas, she couldn’t depend on getting an appointment at the crowded Johannesburg office. So she single-handedly rerouted the entire application and arranged a trip to Durban with her husband to be at the Consulate at 8am on 17 April so she doesn’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to tour Las Vegas. Armed with every single document they could want, she took her chances.

And through her efforts and not giving up so easily her documentation was approved and she is heading to Las Vegas for her book tour and her work that she does as a motivational speaker, to share with the world her experiences as a South African woman whose found her purpose in life through writing and storytelling. The culmination of a dream come true. A journey which started five years ago when global storytellers touched her life and whispered in her soul that maybe she too had a story to tell!

Alison started writing and sharing her story with people who gained insight and knowledge about finding her purpose in life, how to master identity intelligence and how to find her belonging.

Her message to South Africans and the world today is: don’t wait a lifetime for your opportunity. Take a leap of faith and believe that you can do it now and’s overcome great odds to make a success of your life. You can overcome the fear rejection and whatever happens when you reach the other side, you took that first step and then you will take another. Sitting, waiting and wondering what could have happened if you had tried will only hinder you from reaching one step closer to your destination. Sometimes we are faced with challenges, delays and obstacles like i did when she reached home affairs and those are just speed bumps to get us to your destination” says Alison.

Alison describes how receiving a personal invitation and a letter from Lady JB Owen, who has received knighthood for her humanitarian work, was the pinnacle of her writing journey. It embodied so much the message of my book, Belonging. Today she is grateful to have taken that first step towards writing her journey 5 years ago, even at such a late stage of her life she is happy to have lived long enough to see her dream fulfilled.

Alison’s message to everyone reading this message today:

“Every great move forward in your begins with a leap of faith, a step into the unknown. This step is not just about getting from one step to the other. It’s about the effort you’ve made in believing in your destiny, it’s about trust the unknown, it’s about surrender and letting go of disbelief and doubt, trusting your instincts and knowing that life begins at the end of your comfort zone. Writing healed me. I realise now that I am a writer that speaks. That is my true identity. Writing chose me. Now I choose to live a life worth writing for. A life worth writing about. I choose to step into the light” says Weihe.

And as she boarded the plane from Durban back to Johannesburg, this message appeared to her vision:

“Your story Matters” That is why you are going to Las Vegas as a writer that speaks. To talk about the power of stories that change lives.

Your story matters

Thank you for tribing with me.
