Vietnam’s Vntrip Raised An Additional 7 Million USD

Vntrip – Vietnam tourism startup has successfully called 7 million USD in raising capital to expand Series B.

Information shared by Mr. Le Dac Lam, CEO and co-founder of Vntrip with Tech in Asia, he did not mention the specific investor’s name.

With this round, Vntrip has raised a total of 20 million USD. Previous round investors include: John Wu, former chief technology officer of Alibaba Group, Hong Kong-based Hendale Capital; Swiss investment firm IHAG Holding and other investors. Vntrip is currently valued at $ 45 million.

Before the pandemic, Vntrip received several buyout offers, but the startup’s founder insisted that the company is aiming to achieve a profit by 2021 and plans to issue shares to the public for the first time.

Vntrip was originally built from a handshake with Booking.com, the world’s largest online travel agency with a valuation of $ 65 billion. Following that, the Vietnam tourism technology startup cooperated with Expedia, Booking.com’s number one competitor, to increase its room availability. However, up to now, Vntrip.vn has built its own network of hotels nationwide and has its own discount programs at cooperative hotels.
