UMG Idealab Invests in Indonesian Team Monitoring App Jarvis

UMG Idealab, the early-stage venture capital arm of Myanmar conglomerate UMG group, has invested in the team-monitoring app Jari Visibility (Jarvis), developed by Jakarta-based Jari Solusi Internasional.

The quantum of the investment in Jarvis’s seed funding round was not disclosed.

Jari, which primarily develops apps for the financial industry — banks, multi-finance companies, and fintech firms — has thousands of users. It has also developed the Jarvis app to support employees’ operations when they work outside the office like during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The funding from UMG Idealab will be used to boost sales of the Jarvis app and strengthen the infrastructure to support new product launches, said Stephanus Lutfi, Jari’s CEO.

Jarvis has features such as employee attendance management with check-in and check-out selfie, and GPS-based location recording, to help employees record their attendance directly via smartphone and upload reports on the available web dashboard.

Jarvis also has a Smartform feature, which differentiates it from other apps. The feature allows users to use the digital form in the app. The app’s Task Management features enables employers to co-ordinate with staff and monitor their work progress. Another feature is Last Location, which helps identify the last location of employees who are in the field.

“The funding is to support the development and the app capabilities to obtain many users in Indonesia and the region in the future,” UMG Idealab’s CEO Kiwi Aliwarga said.
