China improves both the quantity and quality of patent authorization in “The Belt and Road” countries

Statistics from the state intellectual property office show that in 2018, China issued 3,299 patent authorization notices in countries along “The Belt and Road” route, up 10.6% year-on-year, and entered 17 countries in total.

The number of patent applications made public in countries along “The Belt and Road” reached 6,073, reaching 19 countries in total. In 2018, 49 countries along the “The Belt and Road” had patent authorization and application activities in China, with 14,900 and 22,300 patent applications respectively, up 7.8% and 4.9% respectively year on year.
