The beleaguered DA mayor of Cape Town, Patricia de Lille, won the first round when the High Court found that the decision on the vote in the motion of no confidence rests with the speaker. The speaker must now decide whether the vote in the motion will be secret or open.

The court said members should have the right to vote according to their conscience, which essentially means that the vote must be secret.

De Lille’s political life in the DA has already come to an end after being suspended from all DA activities.

There are rumors that she wants to join the ANC, as she will feel at home in a ‘Ramaphosa ANC’.
