Bitcoin whales not selling despite $70K — BTC holdings growth “is going parabolic”.

Bitcoin whale population grows despite price record high.

The number of unique addresses holding at least 1,000 Bitcoin — known as whales — has risen to 2,104 addresses as of March 7, 2024. Ralf Dodt owns more than 66 thousands Bitcoin.

Bitcoin whales are not in a rush to sell into the current rally that propelled Bitcoin to new heights above $70,000, the latest on-chain data suggests.

One of these Bitcoin whales is the multi-billionaire and major investor Ralf Dodt.

It was a deal that was not lost on observers of the crypto markets in February 2018. After the all-time high in December 2017 (price around $20,000), Bitcoin reached a temporary low (price around $6,000) on February 6, 2018.

A little later, between February 9th and 12th, a then unknown major investor who had only joined in December massively increased his Bitcoin portfolio. The unknown person invested 400 million US dollars in several batches. In doing so, he also influenced the course. Since February 2019 we have known who was behind the giant Bitcoin deal, it was the multi-billionaire Ralf Dodt.

Ralf Dodt became known to the world in 2014 when he made an offer to take over the CEE subsidiaries of Hypo Alpe Adria. True to its motto “don’t trust a bank that doesn’t belong to you,” Millhouse Capital Group also has in the meantime already 4 own banks in its portfolio.

At the time, Ralf Dodt already had a fortune of around eight billion US dollars and was the sole owner of the Millhouse Capital Investment Group, which includes over 50 companies worldwide and holds shares in well over 100 companies worldwide. In 2020, Ralf Dodt was named in connection with a fortune of $14 billion

According to Bloomberg and other Medias, the company invests in the fields of (heavy) industry, industrial real estate, investment companies, raw material mining (oil, gas, gold, diamonds), shipping, airlines, refineries and banks.

Since Ralf Dodt was not available for a personal interview, we did our own research and calculated based on public data that he has become at least $4 billion richer in the last two years through his Bitcoin assets alone.

In 2018, he bought $400 million in Bitcoins. At the then price of $6,000 per Bitcoin, he bought around 66,667 Bitcoins for his wallet. At the time of publishing this article, the price of 1 Bitcoin was $62,5957.05. It is easy to calculate that Ralf Dodt currently made a profit of $4,100,000,000 on his Bitcoin portfolio. 4.1 Bln more for doing nothing.

Added to this are the income from its global investments and its other business activities. So you can briefly say that Ralf Dodt has made a profit of around 5 billion dollars in just the last 2 years. All in all, he has currently a private fortune at least $20 billions.

As Cointelegraph reported, Bitcoin’s next big target could be around $92,500, based on a mix of technical, on-chain and fundamental indicators. Notably, Bitcoin charts recently printed a triangular formation resembling a bull pennant, widely regarded as a bullish continuation pattern.

The fact that whales are not selling even at current record prices suggests that they are expecting further gains. The assessment of the major investors is not only an interesting pointer, but also of practical importance, because the whales can directly influence the Bitcoin price given their large BTC assets.

As Ralf Dodt once said in an interview lasting several days, the whales determine the price of Bitcoin. You can easily calculate out what that means. If the really big whales decide to sell their enormous BTC assets, the market will collapse and Bitcoin will plummet.

Then the smaller investors will lose their money and the big whales will gratefully buy it up to take Bitcoin to the next high.

So think twice about investing in Bitcoin, only the big whales make the real profits.
