Binance announces new trading pair listing

Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by volume, has announced the listing of USDT/ZAR as a trading pair on 9 June.

This listing joins other trading pairs which have already been made available to crypto investors, including BTC/ZAR, ETH/ZAR and BUSD/ZAR. These were listed on 3 October 2022.

This new listing is yet another demonstration of Binance’s commitment to making crypto investment more accessible, and easier, for all South Africans. “Tether (known as USDT) is a popular stablecoin,” points out Hannes Wessels, Country Head of Southern Africa. “This new listing will allow traders to trade the currency with South African Rands on spot order books, while they can also exchange their Rands for USDT.” This is an attractive proposition, as many of the wide range of services provided by Binance are not available for purchase in Rands. Purchasing Tether also gives users access to Binance’s central books, which have the largest liquidity around the world.

Traders should note that the South African Rand is a fiat currency, and does not represent any other digital currencies. Where discrepancies arise between the translated and original English version, the English version will prevail.

“Traders can look forward to more innovations and developments as we work to helping them get the most out of our platform,” Wessels promises.
