Internationally acclaimed South African NPO, Symphonia for South Africa (SSA), in partnership with Business Management Consultancy, BEE Novation, will be hosting the second of its topical Citizen Leadership Conversations on Thursday, 26 May. The virtual session will feature three South African thought leaders, Professor Bonang Mohale, Adam Craker and Kolosa Madikizela, in conversation on the underlying issues preventing economic growth and prosperity in South Africa.
‘’Citizen Leadership Conversations are designed to unpack the pertinent issues of the day – and this instalment is no different. During this session we pose the burning questions on every citizen leader’s mind:
- Is South Africa a failed state?
- Does business have more to contribute to the economy?
- Do we have the will and the leadership skills to turn our economy around?
- Does B-BBEE have a role to play in our economic recovery?
- What is the future of South Africa if we don’t work towards quality education for all children?
We hope to encourage meaningful discourse among C-suite executives, B-BBEE and transformation managers and business leaders who are not only concerned with enhancing their own profitability and strategy, but who want to actively contribute to #TheFutureWeWant to see for South Africa,’’ says SSA Marketing and Communications Manager, Dorcas Dube.
Professor Bonang Mohale is the Chancellor of the University of the Free State and the president of Business Unity South Africa (BUSA). He is a highly respected South African businessman, known as much for his patriotism as for his active role in advancing South Africa’s interests.
Fellow speaker, Adam Craker, is the CEO at IQbusiness, the largest independent management consulting firm in South Africa. He is an ardent lobbyist for government and business collaboration, and has over the years forged strong partnerships between IQbusiness and various NPOs including SSA.
The session will be hosted by former Managing Director of Pragma Africa, Kolosa Madikizela, who is recognised for her passion in women’s career advancement in male dominated sectors, and her support of the growth and development of young professionals in these sectors.
