In today’s fast-paced digital environment, cybersecurity is no longer a back-office function — it’s a core business priority. As cyberattacks grow more sophisticated, businesses of all sizes are investing in technologies and talent that can protect their most valuable assets. From protecting critical infrastructure to managing compliance in highly regulated industries, the need for reliable cybersecurity leadership is more urgent than ever. Behind the solutions and systems are individuals driving innovation, setting standards, and creating practical tools for defense.
A Visionary Leader in Cybersecurity
Among these industry leaders, Scott David Alldridge stands out as a key figure. A seasoned technologist and cybersecurity expert, Alldridge has spent more than two decades helping organizations secure their business-critical systems. He currently serves as President and CEO of IP Services and the IT Process Institute (ITPI), leading efforts to advance IT standards, cybersecurity, and managed services across the country. Through his companies, books, and advisory roles, Alldridge has influenced how businesses manage risk, improve operations, and respond to emerging threats.
Early Influences and Entrepreneurial Spirit
Raised on a small farm in Eugene, Oregon, Alldridge was adopted as an infant and grew up with strong values of hard work and independence. At age 12, he launched a raspberry business, hiring local kids and selling to nearby restaurants and bakeries — an early example of his business instincts. He excelled in sports, particularly weightlifting and football, which led him to play at Linfield College and the University of Oregon.
Later, he pursued his passion for business and technology by earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Kensington College of Business. His academic path included an MBA from the European International University (IEU) with a specialization in cybersecurity, a certification in Technology and Data Privacy from Harvard University, and the highly regarded Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO) credential.
Founding IP Services: A Turning Point
Alldridge began his career in IT in the mid-1990s, quickly establishing himself as a problem-solver in the areas of infrastructure and cybersecurity. In 1996, he founded IP Services as an advanced IP engineering team within MicroAge, a Fortune 500 integrator. He led a team of engineers in designing and deploying enterprise-level networks, and under his leadership, IP Services became an independent firm focusing on cybersecurity and managed services for mission-critical systems.
By 2001, IP Services had transformed into a top-tier managed services provider. Alldridge spearheaded the development of a 14,000-square-foot data center and network operations center (NOC) in Eugene, Oregon. The facility became a core part of IP Services’ national offering — delivering high-availability IT support and custom cybersecurity solutions to businesses across various industries.
Driving IT Standards Through the IT Process Institute
In 2003, Alldridge co-founded the IT Process Institute (ITPI), where he serves as President. ITPI focuses on IT standards, benchmarking, and prescriptive guidance. Through the institute, Alldridge has authored several influential papers and is best known for co-authoring the VisibleOps series — a set of handbooks focused on IT operations, compliance, and cybersecurity best practices.
The VisibleOps books have sold over 400,000 copies globally and are widely used by organizations seeking to mature their IT operations. The latest in the series, VisibleOps Cybersecurity: Enhancing Your Cybersecurity Posture with Practical Guidance, reflects his deep commitment to offering real-world solutions to complex IT problems.
Expansion Through Strategic Business Ventures
Alldridge’s entrepreneurial vision extends beyond managed services. In 2016, he launched SJA Enterprises, Inc., where he continues to serve as President. The company began its journey with the acquisition of Drop Send, a secure file transfer platform, and expanded in 2022 with the purchase of Trial Line, a SaaS solution tailored to legal professionals.
Through SJA Enterprises, Alldridge has built a portfolio of innovative, cloud-based platforms focused on security, compliance, and workflow efficiency. His experience in software and cybersecurity has enabled him to steer the company’s growth in high-demand markets.
Building Infrastructure with A&A Properties Northwest
In addition to technology, Alldridge ventured into real estate by founding A&A Properties Northwest in 2001. The company developed multiple projects, including a Class A office building that also houses IP Services’ state-of-the-art data center. This real estate initiative reflects his unique blend of business acumen and technical foresight, bringing together physical and digital infrastructure under one vision.
Board Leadership and Strategic Guidance
Alldridge is also recognized for his contributions as a mentor and advisor. He has served as Board Chairman of New Hope Christian College for over a decade and provides advisory support to several startups and technology companies. He is a Board Member and Advisor at AMS AI, a firm focused on artificial intelligence solutions for hospitals.
His influence extends across the U.S., where he regularly consults on cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and IT operations. His involvement is not just limited to business — his insights have helped nonprofits and educational institutions strengthen their digital frameworks and organizational resilience.
From the Podium to the Page: A Recognized Voice in Cybersecurity
Alldridge’s expertise has earned him both recognition and a platform. As one of the earliest advocates of ITIL practices, he helped shape frameworks that are now standard in enterprise IT management. His co-authored VisibleOps series became an industry benchmark, selling over 400,000 copies worldwide and helping organizations improve their security posture through real-world guidance.
He has taken the stage at leading cybersecurity events such as the SANS Cybersecurity Summit and HIMSS Cyber Privacy & Security Forum, where his talks are praised for their clarity, depth, and relevance. His thought leadership also extends to digital platforms — including appearances on the CIS Podcast and HIMSS Podcast — with his own podcast in development, aimed at sharing lessons on cybersecurity, leadership, and scaling tech businesses.
A Life Anchored in Purpose, Driven by Legacy
Behind the boardrooms and datacenters, Alldridge remains grounded in what matters most. A devoted husband and father of two daughters — both of whom have followed paths into tech — he leads by example both at home and in his community. His faith and commitment to service are reflected in his long-standing role as Board Chairman of New Hope Christian College, where he helps guide the institution’s mission and growth.
Whether he’s mentoring the next generation of tech leaders, participating in philanthropic efforts, or simply spending time golfing and traveling with his family, Alldridge blends ambition with humility. His life is a reflection of his belief that leadership is not just about what you build — it’s also about what you give back.
