On Tuesday, 26 October, YFM, one of South Africa’s biggest media houses relaunched as “Y” through a debut partnership with world leader in innovative casual footwear Crocs South Africa to curate an exclusive event that was guaranteed to bring its GenZ and Millennial guest list together!

This unique partnership came about as YFM searched to secure the perfect gift for their guest list and were adamant that Crocs would be the ideal partner for this event as they too believed it would be the most impactful gift for their core demographic.

Hosted at Altitude Beach Club, the open-air event saw 580 guests in attendance, with strict COVID-19 protocols enforced by the organisers ensuring their utmost safety. Guests included YFM hosts and weekly DJ Ankletap, DJ Flax, Khutso Theledi as well as special guests and artists such as Hungani Ndlovu, Robot Boii and Langa Mavuso.

YFM wanted to ensure all guests were gifted with 1 x pair of Classics with 8 Jibbitz Charms each. Guests received a branded Crocs card with 2 Jibbitz Charms attached, which invited them to visit the Crocs booth and select their free pair. Crocs South Africa was given prime space at the event to “show up” and wow the crowd. Crocs’ dedicated area showcased visible branding, product walls and two Jibbitz Charms plinths whereby the guests were able to personalize their Crocs.

“We felt that we needed to jump at this opportunity as this type of local partnership doesn’t come along every day. This was also a great way for Crocs South Africa to show up in the event space after COVID in a controlled and secured space. It was an incredible way for Crocs to build local content while we drive local partnerships and helped us engage with a new and youthful demographic”, says Crocs SA Head of Marketing, Samantha Wade.

At the end of a very successful evening, Crocs were able to gift 350 pairs of Classic Clogs along with a whopping 3 500 Jibbitz Charms!

“YFM extends a huge thank you to Crocs SA for partnering with us on the event on Tuesday. It exceeded all our expectations, and was a big part of our success on the night. The Crocs pop-up was such a massive hit and created a magical space for our guests!” shared Lisa-Marie Johnstone, YFM Marketing Executive.

YFM characterises their core audience as young South Africans who are imaginative, curious, and ambitious. They are continuously seeking new ways to improve their lives and their communities so that they can lead successful and rewarding lives.
