After receiving over 3000 submissions nationwide, the Betway Cares Foundation announced the Top 12 finalists for the Voices of Her mentorship programme, which supported the development of sustainable careers for emerging female artists.
Starting Sunday, 23 November 2025, these finalists participated in two weeks of virtual learning followed by an in-person mentorship residency in Johannesburg. The ladies engaged in a comprehensive programme focused on enhancing vocal skills, developing artistic identity, and building essential business knowledge for long-term careers in the music industry.
More than a music development experience, this journey aimed to expand access, provide structure, and empower female artists to build careers they can own and sustain. As Bakang Lethoko, Head of the Betway Cares Foundation, explains, “Voices of Her is about more than music, it’s about expanding access and ensuring that women are equipped not just to perform on stage, but to build and own their careers. When talented women are given the right tools, they create opportunity that stretches far beyondthemselves.”
Through masterclasses, performance development, creative direction, financial literacy, brand building, and industry guidance, each finalist has gained the tools needed to move from emerging talent to an empowered artist capable of shaping her own future and influencing the industry around her.
