Harnessing partnership, collaboration and participation towards #TheFutureWeWant
CEO of Citizen Leader Lab, Komala Pillay

Top ranked South African NPO, Citizen Leader Lab (formerly Symphonia for South Africa), will host virtual information sessions on 28 June and 20 July to discuss how citizen leaders across South Africa can leverage the power of collaboration, participation and partnership to tackle the issues facing our country. The online event will also serve as a platform to share stories of successful partnerships in education through the Citizen Leader Lab’s flagship programme, Partners for Possibility (PfP).

CEO of Citizen Leader Lab, Komala Pillay, said: ‘’Now, more than ever, it is necessary for the government, business and education sectors to work together as a force for change. We believe that we can create #TheFutureWeWant if we all show a strong commitment to education.

These sessions are essentially follow-ups to our most recent Citizen Leadership Conversation that featured South African thought leaders, Professor Bonang Mohale, Adam Craker and Kolosa Madikezela. We encourage all those who want to be part of creating a prosperous South Africa to join us – even if they missed the initial conversation.’’

Partners for Possibility pairs school principals with business leaders in a 12-month collaborative leadership journey. Through this process, principals are empowered to create environments that support quality teaching and learning, while business leaders enhance their leadership ability through a hands-on experience in an environment completely different from their own. The multi-award winning programme features professional coaching, world-class training workshops, practical leadership development exposure in an under-resourced South African community and regular learning and networking opportunities for business leaders and principals.

Since its inception in 2010, over 1,700 schools in under-resourced communities have benefited from the Partners for Possibility programme, and the lives of over one million learners have been positively impacted.

These national information sessions follow the unveiling of a striking new name, brand positioning and identity to support Citizen Leader Lab’s next phase of growth.
