Deputy minister of social development awards Scientology Volunteer Ministers for excellent community service

This week, the National Deputy Minister of Social Development, Ms. Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, hosted an appreciation ceremony to award corporates and NPO’s such as the Scientology Volunteer Ministers, for all their valuable contributions in combatting Covid-19 and challenged them to continue supporting programs that bring help to South Africa.

The ceremony, hosted at the Da Vinci Hotel, began with a heartfelt speech from the Deputy Minister saying:

“I want to thank all of you here today. This day is for you. It has been a hard year and I have called upon all of you during hard times so that the Department can continue to move forward its mandate.

Through your service we have been able to help the vulnerable. From feeding schemes to hygiene packs, each of you have played a major role in what we have accomplished this year and for that I thank you.

“Please note however that in attending this event I am also signing you up for 2022.”

Excited by the support from over 50 NGO’s and corporates, Honorable Bogopane- Zulu and her staff proceeded with special appreciation certificates to the awardees with kind words about each recipient. Amazingly, one of the first to be called up was the Scientology Volunteer Ministers.

The local humanitarian NPO has spent the last 605 days of lockdown on the frontlines helping with free decontamination, wellness educations and free skills development to uplift their country during this time.

To date, they claim to have also sanitized over 70,000 buildings across the country, from homeless shelters, clinics, hospitals, orphanages and many of whom are run by the department. They have also donated over 1.3 million hours combatting this virus and also claim to have sanitized over 1.3 million taxis, buses, ambulances, police cars and more according to a report released by the NPO to its board.

In presenting the award to them, the Deputy Minister said, “The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have actually helped us a lot. They have decontaminated and sanitized many facilities to help the vulnerable and fight the Covid pandemic. You have saved so many lives. Thank you very much.”

The Director of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers, Ms. Gaetane Asselin, stated, “We have been on the frontlines for over 500 days, have endured unmentionable obstacles and toiled for hours daily to make sure our fellow countrymen are safe. Receiving a recognition from the Deputy Minister encourages us to persevere even more and we are ever ready to combat any wave.”

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers affirm that they are not stopping anytime soon and will continue to back up the ministry and the country throughout the pandemic.
