SASOLBURG, Free State — Th highly anticipated Big Up Awards 2025, hosted by Mjazz Magonline, will take place on Saturday, 23 August 2025 at the Harry Gwala Multi-Purpose Sport Centre in Sasolburg.
This year’s ceremony will bring together 50 outstanding nominees from across South Africa in 16 categories, celebrating excellence in business, creativity and impactful community work. Notable nominees include Pamela (former Mrs South Africa), Uyanda (Big Brother SA runner-up), Nozipho Ntshengase from The Mommy Club SA and Ofentse Pitse from The Mommy Club Nairobi.
The awards will not only celebrate these achievements, they will also provide winners with business support, adventure experiences and networking opportunities that will help them grow.
Adding to the event’s prestige, royal delegations from Eswatini, Nongoma and other regions will join the celebration, together with the Bakwena Royal House and Abbaqua Royal House. These royal houses selected Sasolburg as the host city because they see the Free State as a place with untapped potential, where resources and talent exist but opportunities for high-profile national events are rare.
“This is more than just an awards ceremony, it is a platform to spotlight and uplift talent from across the nation while showing that Sasolburg can host events of national significance,” says Tshego Maloka, founder of Mjazz Magonline.
The event will feature a glamorous red carpet hosted by the winner of our Red Carpet Presenter Hunt, while the official MC will be announced on our social media platforms in the coming weeks. Over 150 guests are expected, with live coverage and interviews planned throughout the day.
Media representatives are invited to attend, interview honourees and capture the energy of this landmark celebration.
