WHAT:          The Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development  (TICAD 7) Summit  is under the theme:

                       “Advancing Africa’s Development through People, Technology and Innovation.”
WHEN:         28th – 30th August, 2019
WHERE:      Yokohama, Japan, at the Pacifico Convention Plaza
WHO:           The African Union, The Government of Japan, United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (UNOSAA), United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank the World Bank 

The TICAD 7 Summit will adopt the “Yokohama Declaration”, the “Actions for Implementation of the Yokohama Declaration 2019” as well as the Report on the implementation of the TICAD V Yokohama Action Plan (2013 – 2015) and TICAD VI Nairobi Action Plan (2016 – 2019). 

The Summit is expected to serve as a platform to ensure African Union’s ownership of the TICAD process notably, the inclusion of African Union’s strategic vision, aspirations and priority areas as enshrined in the AU Agenda 2063 and its First Ten Year Implementation Plan.
