Suicide bomber strikes in Somalia

A suicide car bomber thought to be targeting a former governor has killed at least 11 people, including Somali government soldiers and civilians in the south central town of Baidoa.

A police officer in the town told the Associated Press news agency that at least 11 people were killed, with three soldiers among the dead.

Police officer Mohamed Salad said at least 20 people were wounded in the bombing that struck a crowded business district on Monday.
