LIMPOPO — Law enforcement officials in Limpopo have initiated a manhunt for a known male suspect connected to a statutory rape investigation in Vyeboom. The Vuwani SAPS confirmed the active search after a 15-year-old girl reported being sexually involved with her boyfriend over a two-day period in late June.
The sequence of events began on Saturday, 20 June 2026. At approximately 17:30, the minor’s mother arrived home from her shift to find her 15-year-old daughter absent from the house. Concerned relatives spent the remainder of the weekend tracking her whereabouts and reaching out to her social circle, but their efforts yielded no immediate results.
The teenager eventually returned to the family residence on Monday, 22 June 2026, at roughly 09:00. During a subsequent discussion with her mother regarding her unexplained absence, the youth disclosed that she had been staying at her boyfriend’s home, which is also situated in Vyeboom D Section. Furthermore, she admitted to having engaged in sexual intercourse with him during the time she was away.
The specific location of the alleged encounters was identified as a house in Vyeboom D Section, positioned directly beside a local hardware store. Although the incidents occurred between 20 June and 22 June 2026, the family formally approached law enforcement to report the matter on Thursday, 02 July 2026.
Upon receiving the report, detectives swiftly opened a docket for statutory rape to probe the allegations and facilitate a thorough investigation. A spokesperson for the Vuwani SAPS stated that the police have since mobilized resources to track down and apprehend the identified male suspect, confirming that the manhunt remains fully active until he is arrested.
