A Proud Legacy, An Exciting Future: Tyger Valley College Begins a New Chapter as Trinityhouse Tyger Valley

A new chapter will strengthen Christian values, academic excellence and opportunities for generations of students

A significant new chapter is unfolding for one of Pretoria East’s most respected independent schools. Effective 1 January 2027, Tyger Valley College will officially become Trinityhouse Tyger Valley, joining the Trinityhouse family of schools and further strengthening one of South Africa’s leading values-driven education brands.

The transition represents far more than a change of name. It is a strategic investment in the future of the school, creating even greater opportunities for students while preserving the caring culture and strong sense of belonging that have defined Tyger Valley College for almost two decades.

The decision follows an extensive review of the school’s future direction, including engagement with parents, staff and the broader community. Feedback consistently highlighted the importance families place on strong Christian values, academic excellence and opportunities for students to flourish through sport, culture and leadership. These priorities align naturally with the Trinityhouse philosophy.

Trinityhouse is a respected independent Christian school brand with campuses in Randpark Ridge, Little Falls, Centurion and Glenvista, serving more than 6 000 students from Grade 0000 to Grade 12. Its balanced approach to education combines academic excellence with character development, leadership, sport, culture and a strong Christian ethos.

“This announcement is being made from a position of strength,” says Merice Roopram, Managing Director of Trinityhouse. “Tyger Valley College has built a remarkable legacy founded on strong values, academic excellence and a deeply committed school community. This exciting transition allows us to build on that success, creating even greater opportunities for our students, families and staff while strengthening the foundation that has made the school so special.”

Rather than changing the heart of the school, the transition will enhance it by providing access to the broader expertise, collaboration and resources of the Trinityhouse network while protecting the values and relationships that families know and trust.

Roopram believes the greatest strength of any school lies in its people.

“Schools are not buildings, logos or badges. Schools are people. Everything that Tyger Valley College has become has been built by dedicated teachers, support staff and leaders who create an environment where children can thrive.”

The addition of Tyger Valley creates a natural partnership between two school communities that share the same educational vision and commitment to developing confident, compassionate and purpose-driven young people.

“What excites us most is not simply that Tyger Valley is joining Trinityhouse, but that the strengths of these two communities are coming together,” says Roopram. “We will continue building a school that offers exceptional opportunities for students while remaining true to the values that have always been important to this community.”

Students and families can therefore look ahead with confidence. Existing relationships, the school’s Christian foundation and its commitment to individual student success will remain central as Trinityhouse Tyger Valley embarks on this exciting new chapter.

A proud legacy has been built. An even brighter future now begins.
