JOHANNESBURG — A major Bezuidenhout Valley dagga bust has resulted in the arrest of two men and the recovery of narcotics worth an estimated R150,000. The Johannesburg law enforcement operation, executed on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, specifically targeted drug distribution networks within the Jeppe policing precinct.
Acting on actionable intelligence, the Johannesburg K9 Unit led the intervention with tactical support from the Gauteng Highway Patrol. The collaborative, intelligence-driven effort directed officers to the suburb where the suspected dealing was actively taking place.
During the raid, police intercepted two male suspects, aged 45 and 46. A search of the individuals revealed a substantial quantity of dagga securely packaged in plastic bags. Authorities have appraised the street value of the confiscated drugs at approximately R150,000.
Both men were immediately taken into custody on charges of dealing in dagga. They remain in police holding and are expected to appear in court shortly to formally answer to the charges.
