
BLOEMSPRUIT — Law enforcement officials from the Bloemspruit Crime Prevention Unit successfully executed a major Operation Shanela II intervention, resulting in the apprehension of a suspect and the confiscation of crystal meth (tik) and Mandrax tablets.
The tactical operation unfolded on Saturday, 14 June 2026, when proactive officers intercepted a 26-year-old individual. During a search, authorities uncovered a plastic bag concealing a significant stash of the illicit substances.
The recovered inventory was assessed at an estimated street value of R25,000. Following the discovery, the suspect was immediately detained and placed in police custody, where he now formally faces charges related to the dealing of illicit drugs.
