Members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Soweto K9 Unit seized a large quantity of medication during a targeted drug raid in Zola 3, Soweto, on Thursday, 11 June 2026.
The operation was initiated following intelligence regarding alleged drug dealing activities at a local residence. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the suspect released vicious dogs and fled the scene.
Police subsequently gained access to the premises and conducted a thorough search. During the operation, officers discovered various medicines suspected to be intended for illegal distribution. The confiscated items included boxes and bottles of Stillpain syrup, Painagon syrup, Astrapain syrup, Broncleer syrup, and Phenorant syrup, as well as containers of Mylan tablets.
No arrests have been made at this stage. Police are actively searching for the suspect, and investigations into the matter remain ongoing.
