A 45-year-old male suspect from Seagull Road, Pelican Heights, remains in police custody following his arrest for possession of an unlicensed firearm, illegal ammunition, and drugs.
The suspect was apprehended on Tuesday, 05 May 2026, at approximately 22:00 by members of #OperationLockdown3.
Acting on intelligence regarding suspected criminal activity at the specified address, officers conducted a search of the premises. They detected mandrax tablets concealed inside a dog food packet. A further search led to the recovery of a .38 special revolver along with 34 rounds of ammunition.
Eight plastic bags containing mandrax tablets were also seized.
The suspect faces charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, and possession of drugs. Once charged, he is scheduled to make his first court appearance at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court.
