Stolen police firearm recovered, suspect arrested

Grahamstown SAPS members were following up on valuable information when they searched a house at Vukani location, Grahamstown.

They found a Lorcin Walther 7.65 with an identifiable serial number and 13 rounds of ammunition on 22 July 2017.

During further investigation it was established that this firearm was stolen from Peddie SAPS in March 2017.

The suspect aged 26 was arrested for possession of one unlicensed firearm and possession of four rounds of ammunition.

He is expected to appear in court early this week.
