Eastern Cape SAPS’s efforts to enforce compliance to alcohol dealing regulations, yielded positive results when three illegal taverns were closed down and two female suspects aged, 53-55 and 500 litres of alcohol were confiscated on 21 July 2017.
Palmietfontein Station, Aliwal North conducted ‘Operation flash’ that started at 12:00 until 18:00.
The focus was to enforce compliance to licence conditions an municipal by laws like closing times and loud music, but more importantly to provide safety to members of the community. One shebeen at Ndengesi A area kwa Gina, 22 cases of liquor was confiscated and the owner was issued with a J534 .
Mthatha Cluster police efforts to reduce contact crimes in Mthatha Cluster, resulted to the arrests of two women, aged 53 and 55 years old for selling liquor without a license at Ngcolosi Locality in Tsolo on 21 July 2017 at about 17:00.
More than 58.43 Liters of liquor were confiscated and two illegal Taverns were closed.
Those arrested will appear before Tsolo and Aliwal North Magistrate Court on 24 July 2017.
