A 43-year-old female suspect was arrested on Thursday, 16 April 2026, after various South African Police Service units executed a search warrant at a residence on Hoop Street in Wellington.
According to police reports, officers entered the premises at approximately 11:45. Upon entry, members observed an adult female discarding a plastic bag onto the roof of a wendy house before attempting to flee.
The suspect was apprehended immediately. Officers retrieved the plastic bag from the roof and found it contained 114 mandrax tablets, one half mandrax tablet, and ten sachets of tik.
The woman was arrested on the scene on a charge of possession of drugs. Following processing, she is expected to make her first court appearance at the Paarl Magistrate’s Court.
