The relentless efforts of a dedicated team of investigators, who were eager to ensure that a robber and rapist was brought to book were rewarded on Friday, 21 July 2017, when a 33-year-old man was sentenced to undergo 15 years imprisonment for robbery and 10-years for rape.
The 33-year-old male, Deon Bless robbed and raped a 31-year-old female victim on 6 June 2016 in Wittekleibos, Humansdorp at 09:40.
Thorough and responsive investigations towards crimes committed against women and children led to the arrest of Bless soon after the case was reported and he was sentenced in the Humansdorp Regional Court.
Humansdorp Cluster Commander, Brig John Lebok welcomed the sentence handed down and praised the detectives for their determination in solving the case
