Celina police have made an arrest in connection with last weekend’s large and chaotic house party that drew an estimated 800 people to a short-term rental property.
Officers took Demarcus Davis into custody on outstanding warrants for aggravated assault. He was one of two people arrested after gunshots were fired when police arrived at the home.
Despite the massive crowd size and the gunfire, no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred at a residence being used as an Airbnb-style short-term rental. When officers responded to the scene due to the scale of the gathering and associated activity, gunshots rang out. Two individuals were taken into custody in total, with Davis facing the additional aggravated assault warrants.
Police confirmed that, remarkably, no one was hurt amid the shooting and the overall chaos involving hundreds of partygoers.
This arrest comes as authorities continue to address the fallout from the oversized and unruly gathering that overwhelmed the short-term rental property last weekend.
