Nxuba – Off-duty police officers arrested a 37-year-old suspect on drug possession charges on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.
The arrest was carried out by members of the Nxuba Visible Policing unit alongside two K9 Unit members, all of whom were off duty at the time. The team acted on information regarding a suspect allegedly in possession of drugs at a local address.
Officers proceeded to the identified premises and conducted a search. The suspect cooperated, directing them to a location inside the residence where Mandrax tablets were concealed.
The drugs were confiscated and have an estimated street value of more than R230,000.
