A Dallas police bodycam video released this week shows the fatal officer-involved shooting of a longtime security guard for U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) following a high-speed pursuit and standoff.

The incident occurred late last week in a parking garage at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. According to police accounts and sources familiar with the case, officers from the Dallas Police Department’s fugitive unit were pursuing the man due to an active warrant for impersonating a peace officer.

The pursuit began after the suspect failed to stop for police, running multiple red lights while driving through downtown Dallas. Officers followed him into the hospital parking garage, where he barricaded himself inside his vehicle.

Dallas police deployed tear gas to force him out. Bodycam footage captures officers repeatedly issuing commands in English and Spanish, urging the suspect to exit the vehicle with his hands up and not to reach for anything.

Officers are heard saying phrases such as “Get out,” “Keep your hands up,” “Stand up,” and warnings like “Don’t reach. Don’t do it.” The suspect repeatedly refused to comply despite prolonged commands.

After exiting the vehicle, the man pointed a firearm at officers, prompting them to open fire. He was struck and pronounced dead at the scene. No officers were injured in the incident.

The man, identified as 39-year-old Diamon-Mazairre Robinson (who also went by the alias Mike King), had reportedly served as a security guard for Rep. Crockett for an extended period, including during events and her recent campaign activities. Sources indicate he was a trusted member of her security detail.

Dallas police provided remarks in both English and Spanish during the aftermath, with Assistant Chief Sam Sarmiento addressing the scene in Spanish.

The shooting remains under investigation as a standard officer-involved shooting protocol. Bodycam footage has been described as graphic, showing the tense standoff and final moments.
