On Thursday, 29 January 2026, at approximately 04:30, a joint police operation recovered 18 cattle stolen from the Kingdom of Eswatini at a property in Donga, Mayflower.

Acting on information about the theft, a Gert Sibande District team located the cattle, which bore Swazi brand marks, grazing unattended in an open field.

Personnel from the Elukwatini Stock Theft Unit, Eswatini Stock Theft Unit, the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), and Community Policing Forums (CPF) were summoned to the scene. No suspects were arrested.

The cattle were moved to a SAPS holding facility and were officially handed over to the Eswatini Police on 30 January 2026.
