Kellogg’s South Africa launched the Power Breakfast Café, an immersive multi-sensory pop-up experience that took place at Menlyn Mall from the 11th to the 14th of December in Pretoria. This vibrant café-style activation launch brought the idea of a Power Breakfast to life through layered flavours, visual creativity, interactive sensory zones, and a celebration of the full Kellogg’s range.
The pop-up welcomed mall shoppers and locals into an elegant, sensory-led space featuring the aroma of warm chocolate, fresh fruit and brewed coffee, the sparkle of cereal-infused pastries and the visual delight of signature breakfast creations curated for the experience.
Kellogg’s partnered with The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp from Jacaranda FM. Elana hosted a live Outside Broadcast from 9am to 12pm directly from the Power Breakfast Café, with the JAC Feel Good Squad joining the activation to explore creative breakfast dishes and share the energy of the day with listeners.
Neo Nontso, culinary expert, served as the vibrant MC of the day, guiding guests through the journey and sensory touchpoints. A dynamic group of influencers also joined the experience, including Bheki Ndamase, George Mnguni, Sibu Mpanza and Gloria Ngcobo, who recently surpassed 1 million followers on TikTok. Influencers and media designed their own Power Breakfast creations, sampled cereal-infused pastries, and explored an ASMR sound zone crafted to evoke calm, focus and creativity.
Reflecting on the relevance of the café, Tamsin Darroch, Marketing Director for Kellogg’s South Africa, said:
“Breakfast continues to evolve as consumers prioritize creativity, versatility, and balance. People are far more explorative in how they build their meals, and our responsibility is to showcase just how innovative and high quality the Kellogg’s range truly is. The Power Breakfast Café demonstrated the beauty of our products: from nourishing options to indulgent treats and celebrated all the ways South Africans enjoy breakfast today. It captured the essence of possibility, play and good food made well.”
According to trends in the South African breakfast market, consumers are increasingly seeking meals that go beyond convenience—favouring options that are versatile, nutritious, and exciting to prepare. The Kellogg’s Power Breakfast Café responded directly to this shift, showcasing the extraordinary potential of breakfast to fuel energy, creativity, and everyday success.
