
Nairobi, 27th August 2025 – United States International University–Africa (USIU-Africa) has been crowned the winner of the 2025 University PR Challenge, surpassing top competitors and showcasing exceptional innovation, strategy, and communication expertise.
The national competition, which brought together leading institutions, tested the next generation of public relations professionals on their ability to craft compelling campaigns, manage crises, and navigate complex communication challenges in an increasingly digital world.
This year’s contest was intensely competitive, with Strathmore University finishing second, Mount Kenya University (MKU) securing third, and Riara University placing fourth.
USIU’s winning presentation impressed both peers and judges alike, with its originality, clarity, and practical relevance. The team exhibited exemplary teamwork, creativity, and a deep understanding of the strategic importance of public relations in today’s fast-paced, media-driven environment.
The esteemed panel of judges, consisting of seasoned professionals from both academia and industry, commended the participating teams for their dedication and professionalism.
Judge Alex Owiti, a renowned communications consultant, lauded the high standards of the competition:
“Each team delivered outstanding presentations. The depth of research, creativity, and passion displayed indicates a bright future for the PR industry in Kenya. USIU’s campaign stood out for its innovation and flawless execution.”
Judge Lorraine Onduru, an experienced corporate affairs expert, echoed these sentiments, noting:

Judge Dr. Caroline Kiarie, a respected academic and PR scholar, also praised the effort and preparation of all participants:
