Four suspects linked to a house robbery were shot and injured during a shootout with police on Underwood Road in Pinetown on Tuesday afternoon.

According to authorities, officers responded to a house robbery on Oxford Road in Paradise Valley. As they approached the targeted property, they spotted a white Volkswagen Polo traveling in the opposite direction. Police immediately attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver ignored instructions and sped away, leading to a high-speed chase.

The pursuit ended on Underwood Road, where the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police. Officers returned fire, resulting in a shootout. After the exchange of gunfire, all four suspects were found with gunshot wounds. They received medical treatment at the scene before being transported to a hospital under police guard.

A search of the suspects’ vehicle uncovered two firearms, a flat-screen TV, jewelry, two high-end brand handbags, and various home appliances—all believed to be stolen from the robbery.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for a fifth suspect who managed to evade arrest. The injured suspects will appear in court once they are medically fit to do so.

Police have urged anyone with information on the fleeing suspect to come forward as investigations continue.
