Two arrests after quick response in Hillary

A vigilant Blue Security armed response officer arrested two alleged thieves in Hillary on the 23rd of April.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said the armed response officer had responded to the scene of a crime in Stella Road where two suspects had allegedly been targeting motorists in recent weeks.

“One of our clients pressed a panic button when she noticed the suspects stealing an MP4 Player from a parked vehicle. Our officer responded to the scene and tracked down the suspects who had placed the stolen device in their shoulder bag. He recovered the stolen goods and handed the suspects over to the Bellair police who attended the scene,” Mathios said.

Mathios added that an armed response officer had also arrested an alleged trespasser who had been seen jumping over the concrete fence of a business premises in Shepstone Road in New Germany at around 8.30am.

“The suspect had tried to steal a spotlight from a business premises but fled the scene only to be arrested by our officer,” Mathios said.

Mathios said the suspect was handed over to the Pinetown SAPS who attended the scene of the crime.
