
Two male suspects, aged 29 and 32, have been arrested in connection with the murder of their 55-year-old father following a domestic dispute in Ga-Mothapo village, Tjatjaneng, under the Mankweng policing area. The incident occurred on Saturday, 19 July 2025.
According to police reports, officers responded to a complaint of domestic-related assault at approximately 11:00 on Saturday morning. Upon arrival, they found the victim severely assaulted and unable to speak. Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased had been attacked by his two sons following an argument. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the assault.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital but was certified dead upon arrival.
In a swift response, police launched an intensive manhunt, leading to the arrest of both suspects at a hideout in a nearby village during the early hours of Sunday, 20 July 2025, at approximately 03:00.
The two suspects are scheduled to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 21 July 2025, where they will face charges of murder.
Police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
