A 30-year-old suspect was arrested by the combat team deployed under Operation Vala Umgodi in Mpumalanga on Saturday, 12 July 2025, during a targeted operation in the Witbank area.
Authorities acted on credible information about an individual in possession of drugs at a residence on Jellico Street. The operatives swiftly moved to the location and conducted a search of the premises, leading to the discovery of approximately 35 packets of drugs with an estimated street value of R1,000, along with dagga. A sum of cash was also seized at the scene.
The suspect faces charges of illegal possession of drugs and contravention of the Immigration Act of South Africa. He is scheduled to appear before the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 14 July 2025.
