The City Deep Profile Team executed a successful operation on Monday, 30 June 2025, uncovering a major counterfeit goods racket at a warehouse in Crown Mines, Johannesburg. Authorities confiscated 311 fake Louis Vuitton ladies’ bags with an estimated street value of R10,800,000.00.
The bust followed a tip-off, prompting the team to track a suspicious shipment from Durban. Collaborating with brand representatives, officials verified that the seized items were indeed counterfeit. The goods have been secured as evidence while investigations continue.
Thus far, no arrests have been made, but police are pursuing leads to identify and apprehend those responsible for the illicit operation.
