The Tsineng Police have launched a murder investigation following a fatal shooting incident between Ganap and Laxey Village on Saturday, 14 June 2025. The incident, which occurred at approximately 04:20, left two men dead after an alleged attempted robbery escalated into violence.

According to authorities, around six suspects attempted to break into a local tuck shop. A group of community members reportedly confronted them, prompting the suspects to flee. However, one of the suspects allegedly stopped a vehicle near the scene and opened fire, killing the 32-year-old passenger on the spot. The 38-year-old driver later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

It is believed that the suspect was unable to start the stolen vehicle and abandoned it by the roadside before escaping.

In response, police activated a 72-hour plan, deploying specialized units and resources to track down the suspects. Following intelligence-led operations, a residence in Mothibistad was raided at approximately 23:20 the same day, leading to the arrest of three men aged between 27 and 39.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to locate the remaining suspects. Police have urged anyone with additional information to come forward.
