The South African Police Service (SAPS) has confirmed that the human remains discovered in Rust De Winter are those of missing Pretoria journalist Sibusiso Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli.
Following extensive forensic tests, DNA analysis conclusively matched the remains with samples provided by the victims’ biological relatives. SAPS has officially notified both families, bringing a tragic but definitive close to their search for answers.
The couple was reported missing months ago, sparking widespread concern. Their case took a grim turn when skeletal remains were found in Rust De Winter, leading to an intensive investigation.
Seven suspects linked to the case are currently appearing before the KwaMhlanga Magistrate’s Court, facing charges including kidnapping, house robbery, and possession of stolen property.
SAPS expressed relief at being able to provide closure to the grieving families while emphasizing their commitment to ensuring justice is served.
