A 30-year-old former driving school instructor was arrested on 03 June 2025 in a joint operation by the Polokwane-based Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation unit and the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) for alleged corruption.

The suspect, who worked as a driving school instructor in Lephalale between 2020 and 2021, is accused of acting as an intermediary in fraudulent and corrupt activities involving officials attached to the Lephalale Testing Station.

This arrest forms part of a broader crackdown, with 14 other suspects—including traffic officials, driving school owners, and a former traffic examiner—having been apprehended between February and June 2025.

The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on 04 June 2025 to face charges related to the alleged offenses.
