Standerton, Mpumalanga – The parents of 20-year-old Buhlebenkosi Makhanda are devastated after their daughter was brutally murdered and her body dumped near a graveyard in Sakhile township.
Buhlebenkosi left home on Saturday evening but never returned. Her lifeless body was discovered the following morning, sending shockwaves through the community.
Her grieving mother and father say they will only find peace once her killers are brought to justice.
“No parent should ever have to bury their child like this,” her father said, fighting back tears. “We want those responsible to be arrested and punished.”
Local authorities have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made yet. Community members have expressed outrage over the rising violence against women in the area, calling for stronger action from law enforcement.
A memorial service will be held later this week as the family prepares to lay Buhlebenkosi to rest.
