The Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit has launched an investigation into the kidnapping of two newborn boys from the maternity ward at Dora Nginza Hospital on Tuesday evening, 20 May 2025.

According to reports, the first abduction occurred after a mother left her four-day-old infant in the Premature Unit (PREM) following a breastfeeding session at approximately 18:55. When she returned around 20:30 to feed the child again, she discovered he was missing.

Shortly afterward, a second mother arrived at the ward and found her two-day-old baby also missing. Authorities have not yet determined whether the incidents are connected, but the FCS Unit is treating both cases as urgent.
