The 41-year-old man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend in Schoemansdal has withdrawn his bail application.
Smanga Kamanga allegedly attacked 31-year-old Ntombi Maseko with an axe on Monday last week. She was allegedly hacked to death.
Maseko’s family revealed that Kamanga had a history of abuse, which continued even after their relationship ended.
The case has sparked outrage in the community, with calls for justice for Maseko. Investigations continue as Kamanga remains in custody.
